How did I start
The MHMH Center?
“I believe the Western and Eastern approach complement each other- The Western medicine provides the best results in acute conditions, whereas clinical research has shown some of the Eastern therapies to be very beneficial in the management of chronic conditions.”
Regarding the view of yoga in the West versus the East, Dr. Rakhshani said: “The West has come to know yoga as a recreational exercise to stay fit. However, in the East, yoga and ayurvedic medicine have been used as a preventive medicine to manage lifestyle-related disorders for thousands of years.” He further added: “This form of yoga is based on the Vedic sciences, the ancient literature of India, which covers every aspect of health, from diet and nutrition to exercise, to the ways of handling life’s challenges.” The Vedic approach is perhaps best described by the World Health Organization’s definition of health, which states: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Motivation
We work in concert with your conventional healthcare physician’s recommendation to promote balance and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit. We believe that this balance will not only remedy the symptoms of disease but also remove the root causes of them by tapping into the great natural healing power of the body.
Reason
Although we can label health disorders by name (hypertention, diabetes, etc.) and categorize patients accordingly, it is our belief that the health condition of every individual is unique and depends on their lifestyle habits, background, and natural tendencies. For this reason, our coaching is tailored to each individual in one-on-one sessions. The progress of the therapy is also based on the pace that is comfortable for the client.
